He was a native of Greenville County and had spent most of his life in the Marietta area; he had lived on Talley Bridge Road for 37 years. He was a carpenter and of the a Baptist Faith, and had previously served with the US Army.
Survived by three sons and a daughter; eight grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. H.L. Stephens of Macon, GA; three brothers, A.R. “Bob” Garrett and Frank W. Garrett, both of Greenville, and Manley W. Garrett of Edison, NJ.
Funeral services: Monday, December 15, 1969, Marietta Revival Center.
Burial: Grandview Memorial Gardens.
