She was born May 19, 1929, in Dora, the daughter of Henry and Cora Owens Smith. On June 3, 1947, in Mountain Home, Arkansas, she married Wayne Rieger. Before her retirement, she had worked at Baxter Lab in Mountain Home and also sold Stanley Home Products.
She enjoyed gardening, flowers and shopping. She loved her family and enjoyed Sunday lunch and family gatherings at her home. Mrs. Rieger was a member of Ball Church of Christ.
She is survived by three children, Ron Rieger and wife Anita, and Judy Collins and husband Tony, all of Dora, and Carol Pettit of Pottersville; eight grandchildren, Cherri Kelley and husband Scott, Craig Pettit and wife Sheri, Darrick Pettit, David Rieger and wife Caroline, Lindsey Olmsted and husband Travis, Daniel Rieger and wife Taylor, Katie Huddleston and husband Jason, and Coy Collins and significant other Bridget; 10 great-grandchildren, Monica Kelley, Abby Kelley, Jonathon Pettit, Zyler Collins, Barrett Rieger, Landon Olmsted, Hadlea Olmsted, Korbyn Collins, Levi Rieger and Kameron Ames; one sister, Alta Newberry; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, who died Nov. 6, 2014; her son-in-law, Steve Pettit; five brothers, Lloyd, Ray, Charley, Harley and Henry J. Smith and four sisters, Grace Warren, Esta Howard, Thelma Trail and Alma DonCarlos,.
