Violet M. Lawler, 89, of Bennett, died Monday, February 24, 2020 at her residence surrounded by family. Violet was born on July 18, 1930 the daughter of Elizabeth (Bennett) and Edwin Wood. She married Gerald Lawler on July 19, 1946 and they celebrated 60 years of marriage until his passing in 2006. She had worked, as a cook at Prevost and the Solon Springs School District. She enjoyed quilting, knitting, crocheting, and gardening. She also enjoyed making homemade noodles and birthday cakes. Most important to her was spending time with her kids and grandkids.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerry; son, David Lawler; granddaughter, Tina Ormston; and brother, Leonard Wood. Violet is survived by her children, Vivian Ormston of Superior, Jack (Lucy) Lawler of Chippewa Falls, Roxanne (Al) Miller of Superior, Troy Lawler of Bennett, and Lori (Dave) Bjerklien of Bennett; daughter-in-law, Barbara Lawler; grandchildren, Bobbi Jo (Dan) Wagner, Kimberly (Chad) Halverson, Amy (Mike) Belden, Casey Lawler, Jeffrey (Angela) Miller, Aaron (Melanie White) Bjerklien, Allyssa (Ryan Huray) Bjerklien; “adopted” children and their families, Louise Burnham and son David; Peggy (Rod Hamann) Crowell and son James; Loyce (Larry) Enerson, and Fran (Jimmie) Yadon and their children, Peter Yadon, Loren Yadon and Rebecca (Chris) Olson; 18 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; and her sisters and brothers, Irene Bartsias, Floyd Wood, Carol LeBard, Jane Smetana, and Ronnie Wood. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 14 at 11:00 a.m. at the Bennett Town Hall 9215E County Road L Bennett. Private family burial will be in Bennett Cemetery this Spring.
