James Donald Cornell was born in Tecumseh Nebraska, the third child of James E and Hannah Cornell. They lived on a farm in Elk Creek Nebraska the Todd Creek Precent.

He was called Don by the family. I guess they thought 3 James in the same area was a bit much. His grandfather was also James Eugene.

The Cornell's moved to Saratoga Wyoming about 1903.

In the 2 Jan 1919 Saratoga Sun Newspaper, Saratoga Wyoming, "Miss Mable Cornell reported that the previous week, her brother Donald had been discharged and returned to the family home in Tecumseh Nebraska. He had been stationed for some time at Camp Merritt NJ, and at the signing of the armistice he was on board a transport in readiness to sail for the other side."

The local chapter of American Legion Post 54 was chartered 2 Nov 1921 in Saratoga Wyoming . Don was one of the Charter members.

Don worked on ranches for some time in the Platte river valley.

He married first Pauline Delia Cornell ,they were married until her death on 2 February 1942.

He then married Henrietta D Pugh on 30 Oct 1943. We called her Billie, and she had a son Kenneth Lee whom Uncle Don adopted.

They made their home in the Denver Colorado area.
