DOWNEY - Norman Day, 79, died Sunday at 2 a.m. in the Marsh Valley Hospital after a short illness.

He was born Nov. 28, 1885, at Lewiston, Utah, a son of David and Mary Katherine Bowman Day. He married Anne Salvesen March 13, 1906, in Pocatello.

He attended the Cambridge school, and was a farmer in the Cambridge area before moving to Downey where he worked in the sawmill. He later worked for various sheep producers. He was a member of the LDS Church.

Survivors include his widow of Downey, two sons and two daughters, EuJene E Day and Lynn Day, both of Downey; Mrs. Lester (Wanda) Pierce, Pocatello, and Mrs. Odie R (Dorothy) Mallott, Anchorage, Alaska; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; two brothers and four sisters: John Day, Downey; Hoyte Day, Haines, Alaska; Mrs. Mildred Winn and Mrs. George (Martha) Warren, both Santa Barbara, California; Mrs. Donald (Retta) Pack, Idaho Falls, and Mrs. Claude (Vivian) Rogers, Shelley.

Funeral Services will be Wednesday at noon in the Downey LDS ward chapel with Bishop Dale Criddle officiating. Friends may call at the Benson Funeral Home, Malad, Tuesday evening and Wednesday after 9:30 a.m. at the family home in Downey prior to the funeral service. Burial in the Downey Cemetery will be directed by Benson Funeral Home.
