Barbara Ann Butler (Piggott)
Saturday, July 10th, 1943 – Sunday, February 2nd, 2020

Barbara Ann Piggott Butler, 76, of Pace, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday morning, February 2, 2020, at dawn, with her family by her side. Barbara was born in McKenzie, Alabama to Emory Piggott and Roxie Lee Foley Piggott. The family later moved to Mobile, Alabama. She went to school at Vigor High School. She was a Nurses’ Aide at Providence Hospital for a few years before their move to Florida.

After moving to Florida, she lived in Milton, Bagdad, and Harold. While living in Harold, she and her family attended Harold Baptist Church. While attending Harold Baptist Church, she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. She loved to sing and she became a part of “The Harold Trio”. She went on to become a longtime member of Pace Assembly of God, and was filled with the Holy Ghost. She later became a member of Victory Assembly of God.

Barbara also loved to Bowl, and it was at Colonial Lanes in Milton, where she met the love of her life, Ken Butler. They dated and married in 1975, and the family moved to Pace. She loved being at home and caring for her family. In the 1980’s, she went to work at Santa Rosa Convalescent Center, where she worked for over 30 years, as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She enjoyed her work there, and loved going in early “for coffee” and assisting with the care of “Her Patients”! She loved to cook and she enjoyed having all of the family over for birthdays and holidays. She was famous for her Brownies, Chicken Spaghetti, and Shoo-Pea Casserole, just to name a few.

She was preceded in death by her husband, and love of her life, Kenneth Earl Butler; her parents, Emory and Roxie Lee Langley; and two brothers, Donald and Greely Piggott.

Barbara is survived by her three children, Rev. Mike (Bunny) Poston, Tammy (Gary) Davis, and Sue (Rev. Jeff) McKee; her four grandchildren, Kevin Davis, Amanda Davis, Jonathan Poston, and Anna McKee; two sisters, Merle Gunter and Elaine Gomillion; numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
