Deceased Name: Clarence Reiswig MCCLUSKY -- Clarence Reiswig, 77, McClusky, died July 6, 1994, in a Bismarck hospital as a result of injuries sustained in an accident at home. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Seventh Day Adventist Church, McClusky, with burial in McClusky Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. today at Hertz Funeral Home, McClusky.
He was born Aug. 8, 1916, in Lincoln Valley, to Benjamin and Minnie Reiswig. He was raised and attended school there. He served in the U.S. Army in England as a medical corpsman and as a German interpreter from April 1941 to October 1945. He married Lydia Herr, Nov. 2, 1944 in McClusky. After his discharge, he returned to farm in the McClusky area. He was also a custom combiner for several years. Lydia died Dec. 22, 1992. He retired from farming in 1993.
He was a member of Seventh Day Adventist Church, where he served as deacon and was active in the Sabbath School. He loved farming together with his wife. He also appreciated the care provided by his loving caregiver, Helen Hoffer, after his wife's death.
He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Stanley and Lila, Turtle Lake, and Douglas and Lori, Fargo; four grandchildren, Kerwin, Ryan, Jeremy and Melissa Reiswig; one great-granddaughter, Courtney; four brothers, Sam, McClusky; Lawrence, Bismarck; Elroy, Minot; and Norris, Minneapolis; and three sisters, Bertha Braunberger, McClusky;Altrude Hoffer and Delores Buelow, both of Bismarck.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one sister, Esther; and two brothers, Melvin and Ted.
