A resident of Walker, she died at 3:23 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 25, 1996, at her residence. She was 79 and a native of Livingston Parish. Visiting was held at Carrol Baptist Church, Walker, 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday. Visiting at the church, 10 a.m. until religious services at 2 p.m. Tuesday, conducted by the Rev. Kenny Bankston. Intermen in Vickers Cemetery. Survived by five daughters, Betty Covington, Denham Springs, Bonnie Craig, Walker, Barbara Strother, Bridge City, Texas, Linda Minton an Quida Cooper, both of Walker; three sons, Charles, Mike and Ronnie Covington, all of Walker; four sisters, Alice Lockhart, Bonnie Lockhart, Freda Byrd and Hazel Galloway, all of Walker; two brothers, Roy and Elmon Williams, both of Walker; 20 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband, Edward Covington; and father and mother Dewitt and Ola Graham Williams. Pallbearers will be grandsons. She was a charter member of Carrol Baptist Church.
