Virgil S. Coy, 67, Route 2 Hope, died on January 2 after suffering a heart attack.

A native of Brown County, Coy was born on May 12, 1912, the son of John W. and Flossie Wray Coy.

He married Ruby Andrews on September 22, 1933, and she survives.

A former employee of Arvin Industries, Coy was a member of the Edinburgh United Methodist Church and a lifelong member of the Fraternal Order of Police.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Wayne and Keith E. Coy, Hope; a daughter Carol Coy, Hope; a brother, Orville Coy, Trafalgar; two sisters, Pauline Burtis, Columbus, and Ardith Stallsworth, Pontiac, Illinois; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Allen Coy, in 1956; four brothers and one sister.

The funeral service was conducted Saturday at the Norman Funeral Home in Hope by the Rev. Robert Dunham.
Burial was in Hope Moravian Cemetery.

Virgil S. Coy, 67, of Hope route 2, died after suffering a heart attack while driving his truck Wednesday afternoon at Road 600E and 500N. He retired in 1977 from Arvin Industries where he was employed 28 years.

Funeral service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Norman Funeral Home at Hope by the Rev. Robert Dunham. Persons may call from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday and until time of service Saturday. Burial will be at Hope Moravian Cemetery.

Coy was born in Brown County May 12, 1912, the son of John W. and Flossie Wray Coy. He married Ruby Andrews Sept. 22, 1933, and she survives. He was a member of Edinburgh United Methodist Church and a lifelong member of Fraternal Order of Police.
