James Lester "J.L." Kinser, 78, of Madisonville, passed away Saturday, March 24, 2001, at his home.

A son of the late Francis Gordon and Ada Dailey Kinser, he was preceded in death by one sister, Grace McClurd; and two brothers, Kenneth and Gene Kinser. He was employed by General Motors Corporation in Buffalo, N.Y., prior to his retirement.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Ora Lee Kinser; one daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Tom McLemore; his grandchildren, Laura Ann Bomar and husband, Lee, and Dennis James McLemore and wife, April, all of Chattanooga; four sisters and one brother-in-law, Ada and Ed Casteel, Sarah Lois Axley, all of Athens, Mary Ellen Kinser of Englewood, and Mildred Lusk of Chattanooga; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Gordon and Elva Lee Kinser and Rankin and Mae Kinser, all of Chattanooga; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Biereley-Hale Funeral Home with the Rev. Beecher Miller and the Rev. Thomas Carroll officiating. Burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Haven Hill Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
