He was a native of Lincoln County, son of the late John M. and Dorah Tucker Caldwell. His first wife, Mrs. Sally B. Russell Caldwell, died in 1970.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Mullins Caldwell of Kelso, three daughters, Mrs. Alease Jeans and Mrs. Jeanette Cashion, both of Kelso and Mrs. Lula Belle Williams of Donalson; two sons, John Paul Caldwell and Jack Caldwell,both
of Fayetteville; two sisters, Mrs. Susie Hirlston of Kelso, and Mrs. Bessie Clayton of Fayetteville; a brother, Houston Caldwell of Kelso, two step-daughters, Mrs., Jean Williams of Mulberry and Mrs. Ruth Wilke of Huntsville; a step-son,
Robert Baldwin of Mulberry; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and several step-great-grandchildren.
