Mrs. Phyloma Edel, seventy-five years old, a life-long resident of Bremen, died at her home on North Whitlock street Thursday morning after an illness of several years.
Mrs. Edel was born in Bremen Sept. 5, 1861. She was the daughter of the late Levi and Jane (Carr) Ellis. In 1878 she was united in marriage with William Henry Schilt, who died in 1892. On Oct. 14, 1895, she was united in marriage with Lawrence Edel.
She is survived by her husband, Lawrence Edel; two daughters, Mrs. Ethel Newhouse, Kenosha, Wis., and Mrs. J. P. Kleineld, Cleveland, O.; two sons, John E. and Walter B. Edel of Bremen. She leaves also twenty-five grandchildren and six great grandchildren, and two sisters and one brother, Mrs. Chloe Fulk of Canton, O., and Mrs. William Kinzie and Elvin Ellis of LaPaz.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Grace United Brethren church, of which she had been a member for many years. Rev. A. B. McKain, the pastor, officiated in the service. Burial was in the Bremen cemetery.
