Cleo Deal Gaines, age 86, of Pierce City, MO died on Sunday, July 21, 2019 at Bentonview Park Health and Rehab in Monett, MO. Mr. Gaines was born in Cumby, Texas on Monday, February 06, 1933. He was the son of Arlie and Alice (Keenum) Gaines. Mr. Gaines was married to Ruth Long and she preceded him in death. Mr. Gaines was retired from Wells Fargo where he was a security guard. He was a veteran of the Korean War where he was in the Army serving as an MP. He lived in Texas for many years and enjoyed hunting coons. He moved to Pierce City, MO in 2004.

Surviving are the following: one daughter, Rosie Miller of Pierce City, MO; two sons, Bobby Gaines of Ft. Smith, AR and Andy Cleo Gaines of Arkansas; one brother, Kenneth Gaines of Cumby, TX. He has 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one son, Adell Wayne Gaines; one daughter, Penny Gaines; 1 grandchild, and three brothers, Troy, Audie, and Bobby Joe Gaines.

The family will receive friends on July 24, 2019 from 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM at Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City, MO. Graveside services, with Military Honors, will follow at 2:00 PM at the Pierce City Cemetery with Brother Jimmie Copley officiating. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City, MO.
