MRS. C. L. MORITZ DIES OF CANCER AT FORTY-NINE
Seven Children Among Survivors

After an illness of ten years with cancer, Mrs. Alvia Mountz, aged fifty years, wife of C. LeRoy Mountz of 404 North Cowen street, Garrett, died Tuesday morning at 12:20. She had been in a serious condition for a year.

A daughter of Marion S. and Mary Crooker Rickey, she was born at New Era on April 16, 1889. She and Mr. Mountz were married in Auburn July 1, 1907, and moved to Fort Wayne. They moved to Garrett to reside twenty-five years ago.

Mrs. Mountz was baptized in the Catholic faith Feb. 20 and the funeral services will be held Friday morning at 9 o'clock at St. Joseph's church with the pastor, the Rev. John G. Bennett. officiating. Burial will be made in Cedar Chapel cemetery southeast, of Garrett.

Surviving besides the widower are seven children, Betty, Junior. Eli and Charles. at home. Mrs. Michael Mitchell of Chicago. Mrs. G. V. Viler of Gary. and Mrs. Ellis Lung of 407 North Cowen street, Garrett; four grandchildren, the mother, Mrs. Mary Crooker Rickey of south of Auburn, and one sister, Mrs. Henry DeWitt of southwest of Auburn.

The body was prepared at the H. A. Hinklin funeral home and was returned to the Mountz residence Tuesday evening.
