BURY MRS HC DeWITT AT CEDAR CHAPEL
The funeral of the late Mrs JOAN DeWITT, wife of Henry C DeWitt of five miles south and a mile east of Garrett, was held at Cedar Chapel Friday afternoon. The Rev John Hand officiated and burial was made in the church cemetery.
Mrs DeWitt was 51 years old and died at 5 am Wednesday at Sacred Heart Hospital from a blood disease. She was ill a week and a patient in the hospital three days.
The body was removed from Zimmerman funeral home Thursday to the residence of Ward Rickey, a nephew of Mrs DeWitt, one mile north of the DeWitt home.
Mrs DeWitt was born Aug 24, 1896 in Butler Township a daughter of Mr and Mrs MS Rickey.
Surviving besides the widower is the mother, Mrs Mary Rickey, who has been living in the DeWitt home.
