Gary passed away at The Gables Assisted Living Center under care of Hands of Hope Hospice. He grew up in Salt Lake and Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School. He graduated from Idaho State University with a degree in psychology. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He and Dorothy were married in Idaho Falls on September 6, 1952, and sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple on April 18, 1958. They lived in Idaho Falls, where Gary worked as a Contract Administrator at Idaho National Lab. He courageously battled injuries sustained in a car wreck when he was 32 and received the “Tough as Nails” award from his coworkers for never giving up. In retirement, Gary and Dorothy served a service mission for LDS Family Services. Gary was an accomplished golfer and an avid skier, ski instructor, and snowmobiler. He also enjoyed genealogy, listening to music, and serving people anonymously. He was a true cowboy at heart, an avid 2nd amendment proponent, and loved his country dearly. Survivors included: children Cindy (Bill) Harris of Rigby, Brady (Bea) Duncan of Indianola, WA, Kathleen "Kitty" Tillo of Idaho Falls, Bradley (Ellen) Duncan of Idaho Falls, and Melanie (Vernon) Bell of Spokane, WA; 19 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Preceding were sister Betty Allen, brothers Jay, Clint, Don, Morgan, Gene, and Doug, and grandson Jacob Duncan. Services held October 12th at Idaho Falls 9th Ward chapel at 395 2nd Street. Bishop Kyle Panting officiated. Military Rites were performed by Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and Idaho Honor Guard.
