Janie Naomi Edwards, 91, of New Bern, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 24th, 2019.
She was reunited in Heaven with her husband of 52 years, Murray Edwards.
She was a member of Bridgeton Pentecostal Holiness Church and loved her family dearly. Her children are grateful for the Christian heritage that she has left them and they look forward to seeing her again in Heaven.
She is survived by her three children, P. Scott Edwards (Gloria) of New Bern, Brenda Edwards Odom of New Bern, and Sheila Edwards Waters (Brad) of Cove City; sisters, Polly Whitehurst of New Bern and Peggy Lawrence of Elizabeth City; as well as seven granddaughters, DeEtta Gravvanis, Kellie Edwards, Kimberly Odom Tripp, Cameron Edwards, Tamara Odom Weems, Sunny Waters Herring, and Jessica Waters Kennedy; and twelve great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, September 30th at Cotten Funeral Home, followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. in the Chapel with the Reverend Kenneth Dixon officiating. She will be laid to rest at Greenleaf Memorial Park.
