She was born on December 17, 1929 in Fort Collins, Colorado to Joseph Wasinger and Mary Arnold Wasinger.
She attended St. Joseph Catholic School and graduated from Fort Collins High School. Luella worked as a waitress in her mother's restaurant, The Rainbow Café, in Fort Collins where she met her future husband Harold, who was attending Colorado A&M College at the time.
Harold and Luella married on August 16, 1952 and had three children.
She enjoyed being a homemaker and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also loved a good game of Bingo, trips to Black Hawk, fishing at Red Feather Lakes, and her favorite restaurant Country Buffet. It was the simple things in life that gave her the greatest pleasure.
Luella is survived by her children: Ronald (Diane) Sutton, Mary (Jeff) King, and Diane (David) Rees. Her grandchildren: Amy (Matt) Schardt, Holly (Zach) Dolzani, and Kayleigh Rees and her great-grandchildren: Kyle Schardt and Cora Schardt.
Luella was preceded in death by: her parents, her husband Harold Edwin Sutton, her sisters Matilda "Tillie" Zwenger and Julia Willox and her extended family who she loved dearly.
We wish to extend our heartfelt thanks to Halcyon Hospice, especially nurse Cathy, for their caring services.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fort Collins. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
