Ella Boltz was the oldest child of Carl W. and Lydia Buenning Boltz. She married Herman Thom at the Lebanon Baptist Church in Emmet, WI. (Her mother's home church.) Together they lived on farms in the Sullivan, WI area. Their first two children died in infancy but their two sons Marvin Carl and Alvin Harold reached adulthood, married and had children. After nearing 40 years of farming in the Sullivan area they sold their farm and moved to the town of Sullivan in 1939. Ella was preceded in death by her husband, daughter Betty and sons, Harold and Marvin. She was survived by her son, Alvin, nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
