Carl W. Boltz was born in Germany on Sept 30, 1856 and came to America in 1870 with his parents and five sisters. Shortly after arriving his father died leaving his mother with six children. In 1879 he married Lydia Buenning of Emmet, WI. Together they had twelve children, ten of which reached adulthood. Ella (Thom), Willie (died in infancy), William, John, Frank, Minnie (died in infancy), Sidney, Sarah (Gatz), Florence (Mundt), Frances (Mundt), Winifred (Wenzel) and Clarence. Charles, Lydia,their children and Carl's sibling were early members of the Bakertown Baptist Church and Cemetery. Many are buried near by.
