He was the son of William Monroe and Belinda Carolina Thomas Bailey and married Mary Thompson - 03 Dec 1905 - Franklin Co., Tennessee. His obituary follows:

George Bailey Dies at 94 --

George Ruben Bailey died after an extended illness Thursday of last week at Meadows Convalescent Home in Tullahoma. He was 94.

Mr. Bailey, the son of William and Belinda Thomas Bailey and a native of Marietta, Georgia, was a retired power man with the Marquette Cement Company in Cowan.

Funeral services were held Saturday at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home in Winchester with Rev. Ray Gardner officiating. Burial was in Montgomery Cemetery in Cowan.

Surviving are two sons, Elijah Bailey and Jackie Bailey, both of Cowan; five daughters, Mrs. Cecile Johnson of Huntsville, Alabama, Mrs. Bertha Henley of Addison, Illinois, Mrs. Evelyn Edwards of Lauret, Maryland, Mrs. Clara Benson of Estill Springs, and Mrs. Nancy Garner of Little Rock, Arkansas; a sister, Sally Hill of Estill Springs; 22 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren.
