Leonard Bames, 75 year old retired grain and stock farmer, died Tuesday, December 14 at the Leisure Hill Nursing Home in Kewanee, where he had been a resident for two years. He was born August 23, 1901 in Henry, Ill. to parents John and Elizabeth Meehan Barnes. Leonard Barnes married Vema Finck on May 21, 1938 at Wyoming.
He is survived by his wife, one son, John of Chicago, three daughters, Mrs. Jim (Rosanne) Myers of Peoria; Mrs. Floyd (Marianne) Walker of Aberdeen, Mississippi and Mrs. Kenneth (Evelyn) Freeman of Rockford; eight grandchildren, three sisters, Mrs. Frank (Gertrude) Bogner MEMORIAL ID 86614805 , Mrs. Raymond (Marie) Ryan, Mrs. Ralph (Elizabeth) Finnegan MEMORIAL ID 92000755 , all of Bradford, and one brother, James, of Camp Grove. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 18, 1976 at 10 a.m. at the St. John's Catholic Church with FT. Heine Ciesielski officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Friends may call at the Dunlap Funeral Home on Friday, Dec. 17 from 3-5 and after 7, with Rosary at 7:30 p.m. by Fr. Louis Schaechter
