Nellie Etta Frazell-DeHart was born in Pleasant Green, Warren County, Illinois on October 15, 1887 to Jacob Hiram and Ida Irene Blakeman-Frazell. She was over 5 years old when the family moved to Dundy County, Nebraska in the Ough vicinity.
Nellie taught country schools for a few years.
She married Floyd H. DeHart on October 28, 1914 at her parent's home at Ough, Nebraska.
To this union, nine children were born. Three died in infancy.
Her husband Floyd, her daughter Merle and her son, Marvin, preceded her in death.
Surviving are Leland and wife Glendene Louch-DeHart, Mason and wife Beulah Wickizer-DeHart, Irene DeHart-Wright and her husband Loran Wright, and Joan DeHart Church and her husband, Fred Church. She also left 19 grandchildren and several great granchildren.
Nellie was a member of the United Methodist Church.
