Leslie Montgomery Bendily, a retired employee of Capital Mac with 28 years of service and a resident of Walker, died Friday, Dec. 14, 2001, at Summit Hospital, Baton Rouge. He was 73 and a native of Slaughter. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, with eight years of service.

Survived by his loving wife, Alberta Bendily; a daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Arthur Wheat; two brothers, C.E. and Wayne Bendily; two grandsons, Matthew and Steven Wheat; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his father and mother, Robert and Rose Milton Bendily; three sisters, Audrey Covington, Vida Aimi and Elsie Connett; and five brothers, Carl, Klein, Gene, Jessie and Milton Bendily.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Bendily, Wade Bendily, Jessie Earl Bendily, Matthew Wheat, Steven Wheat and Dallas Hebert. Honorary pallbearers are David Nevels, Caralane Covington, Dale Brock and Cliff Bendily.

He was of the Methodist faith.
