Lena Belle (Hart) Ferrell, 95, passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 5, 2019 in Jacksonville, Florida. She was born in Rhine, Georgia on November 18th, 1923 to parents, George Harris Hart and Laura Ida Johnson Hart. She Married Charles Allen Ferrell on August 27, 1948.
Lena was one of 13 children raised on farmland in Georgia, she knew the meaning of hard work. As a young adult she moved to Jacksonville Florida with one of her older sisters, for work. There she met and married Charles Allen Ferrell. While Lena had many jobs in her lifetime, to include Ball room dance instructor, Home health caretaker, Restaurant owner, waitress and ship welder. She would tell you her biggest accomplishments in life were her children (4), grandchildren (6) and great-grandchildren (5). Lena stole the hearts of all who met her, she quickly became momma Lena or gramma Lena to everyone she touched with her gentle voice and warm hugs. She truly had unconditional love for everyone.
Lena was preceded in death by both her parents, all her 12 Siblings and by her husband Charles Allen Ferrell, her Oldest Son Larry Allen Ferrell, youngest daughter LaNiesa Ferrell, daughter in law Dolores Schramm and great-grandson Kishaun Lamar Ferrell.
She is survived by; Sons, Sidney Charles Ferrell and Timothy Lauren Ferrell; Daughter Juanita Denise Lane with spouse Walter Lane. Grandchildren; Christi Cobia, Hannah Snyder with spouse Joshua Snyder, Matthew Ferrell, Rachel Ferrell, Daniel Ferrell and Jeremy Marrero. Great-Grandchildren; Cameron Young, Ciara Ferrell, Kadin Ferrell, Lily Snyder and Lana Snyder.
Visitation will be held at 11am, Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at the Parkwood Baptist Church, 7900 Lone Star Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32211. Funeral services will follow at 12 pm with Pastor William Manny Keyser officiating. A comitial service will follow at the Arlington Park Cemetery.
