To their union, four children were born including three sons -- Vivian E. Prettyman, Elwood J. Prettyman and Ray Leroy Prettyman.
He died from severe injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He was laid to rest on August 4, 1942 on the grounds of New Tacoma Cemetery under the direction of the funeral directors with Buckley-King Company, of Tacoma, Washington.
