Mrs. Glorene Morris Johnston, 76, of North Augusta, SC, died peacefully in her home on Sunday, 2 June 2019, surrounded by her loved ones. She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Mr. Roger M. Johnston, of Memphis, TN, and an infant son, James Michael Johnston. A native of Barnwell, SC, she was the daughter of the late Mr. Leighton Morris and the late Mrs. Lorene Morris Ferguson. After retiring as a human resources administrator, Mrs. Johnston enjoyed travelling the country to visit her children and grandchildren. She was an avid writer and storyteller. She is survived by three children and their spouses: Roger M. Johnston, Jr. and Trina Cook Johnston of North Augusta, SC, Sharon K. Grigsby and Kevin Grigsby of Elizabethtown, KY, and Teresa Johnston-Bassham and Brodrick Bassham, Jr., of Charlotte, NC. She is also survived by her siblings: Mrs. Virginia Hutto of Barnwell, SC, Mrs. Neta Rutland of Barnwell, SC, Mrs. Caroline Cramer of Charleston, SC, and Mr. Rogers Morris, also of Barnwell, SC. She was preceded in death by two younger brothers: Mr. Cleveland Morris and Mr. L.M. Morris, both of Barnwell, SC. Mrs. Johnston is also survived by six grandchildren and their spouses: Steven and Zoa Anderson of Belleville, IL, Joshua and Morgan Anderson of Elizabethtown, KY, Emily Grigsby of Elizabethtown, KY, Madison and Jake McCormick of North Augusta, SC, Grayson Johnston of North Augusta, SC, Isabella Scarlett Johnston Bassham of Charlotte, NC, and two great grandchildren: Lillie Anderson and Caleb Anderson, both of Belleville, IL. Visitation will be Wednesday, 5 June 2019 at 1:00 PM at Hatcher Funeral Home in Graniteville, SC. A celebration of life service will immediately follow at 2:00 PM with Pastor Charles Morris officiating. Interment will be held at Pine View Memorial Gardens in North Augusta, SC. Pallbearers will be Roger M. Johnston, Jr., Kevin Grigsby, Brodrick Bassham, Jr., Steven Anderson, Joshua Anderson and Jake McCormick. Honorary pallbearer is Mr. Rogers Morris. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to either the American Lung Association or Encompass Hospice of North Augusta, SC
