Wanda (Ross) Mascari, 95, went to her Lord on April 17, 2019 at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center.

Wanda was born on Sept 22, 1923, in Danville, IL, the daughter of Cecil and Beulah (Potts) Ross. She married the love of her life, John Mascari, on May 16, 1948, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Together they raised their daughter Danielle who at 18 proceeded John and Wanda. John proceeded Wanda in June 2006.

Wanda was a faithful servant of Christ, a devout Catholic and member of St. Paul Catholic Church. She was a Eucharistic Minister taking Communion to those who were ill. She was a member of the Contemplation Meditation Group, Bible reading group, and Rosary Group.

Wanda and John owned and operated West Side Recreation, (now the site of the Palmer Arena), until their retirement, and she was employed at Cummings Publishers.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Glenn, Bill and Gene Ross and sisters Lucille Zotz and Linda Gowens.

She is survived by her niece Kathy (Ross) Richard and her husband Bob, along with several other nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Colonial Manor Nursing Home and staff at OSF Sacred Heart for their excellent care of Wanda.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, April 22, 2019 at 11:00 AM at St Paul’s Catholic Church, 1303 Walnut Street Danville, IL with Father Bowan Schmitt officiating. Visitation will be held Monday, April 22, 2019 from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at the church. The family is being assisted with arrangements by Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, 3940 N. Vermilion Street Danville, IL.

Memorials may be given to St Paul’s Catholic Church, Schlarman Academy or Resurrection Cemetery.
