Ezra Ames is the son of James B Ames and Elizabeth Craft Hall.

He married Lucy Garcelon in Topsham, Maine on 19 January 1792.
They lived in Lewiston, Maine and raised their family of 10 children:

Ezra died during the War of 1812.

On 15 May 1813 Ezra enlisted and was a Private in the 3rd U.S.Infantry, Army, District of Maine.

On December 3, 1813 he was listed as sick in Chateaugay, Franklin, New York, USA.

On January 3, 1814 Ezra died at Burlington, Chittenden, Vermont, USA.

It is unknown where many of the war dead were buried. His probate is dated 23 AUG 1824 in Lincoln County, Maine, so I suspect his family was unsure as to what actually happened to him.
