Lucy Garcelon was the sixth child born to James Garcelon and Deliverance Annis and their first daughter. After her birth the family moved to Freeport, Maine which was part of Massachusetts at the time. On 17 OCT 1775, the British were planning to burn Falmouth (now Portland), Maine and had four armed vessels in the harbor. James Garcelon fled with his family to Lewiston, Maine (Pejepscot Claim) for safety and settled there. on 18 OCT 1775 the British burned and destroyed Falmouth.

On 19 JAN 1792 in Topsham, Maine Lucy Garcelon married Ezra Ames and to them, ten children were born.

Her husband, Ezra, went to fight in the War of 1812 and he died 03 JAN 1814 in Burlington, VT.

Lucy was living with daughter, Deidamia and her husband, Converse Moody, when she died 04 MAR 1851 in Farmington, Maine. Her burial location has not been discovered yet. Ezra's body was not returned from Vermont and he is most likely buried in a mass grave of soldiers.
