LEWISBURG — Erma K. Walters, 91, formerly of Mifflinburg from 1941 to 1975 and Kreamer for 35 years, entered into rest at 1:37 a.m. Thursday, May 26, 2011, at RiverWoods, where she had been a resident for a month.
She was born Nov. 19, 1919, in Union County, a daughter of the late Charles and Carrie (Kratzer) Krouse. In 1941, she married John Mook, who preceded her in death in 1961. In 1975 at St. John's United Church of Christ, Mifflinburg, she married Elwood H. Walters, who survives.
Erma was employed for more than 40 years at Huntington Throwing Mills, Mifflinburg.
She formerly was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Mifflinburg, and for the past 35 years was a member of Christ's Lutheran Hassinger Brick Church, Middleburg.
Erma enjoyed quilting, crocheting and knitting and was known for her excellent cooking and baking skills.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Luther and Roy Krouse, and four sisters, Margaret Krouse, Beulah Troup, Ethel Silverman and Iva Cockriell.
There will be no viewing. The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Roupp Funeral Home Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Road, Mifflinburg, with the Rev. Gary Owens and the Rev. Joseph Lingenfelter officiating.
Burial will be in Mifflinburg Cemetery.
