Helen Shipp, 80, of Hillsboro passed away March 13, 2019 at Town Hall Estates Nursing Home in Hillsboro. She was born January 21, 1939 in Whitney, the daughter of Lonnie Lee and Willie Ethel (Ivie) Dobbs.

She grew up in the Hillsboro and Whitney areas, attending school in Union Bluff and Hillsboro. On May 31, 1993 Helen was united in marriage to Raymond Shipp and he preceded her in death on January 30, 2013.

Helen worked at Best Cleaner and Laundry in Hillsboro. She later was employed as a CNA at Town Hall Estates Nursing Home-Hillsboro and Canterbury Villa Nursing Home-Hillsboro and also worked in dietary and laundry in two nursing homes in San Angelo before her retirement.

In her younger years Helen enjoyed music and dancing. She also loved traveling, camping and fishing. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Hillsboro.

Also preceding her in death were her parents; her daughter, Melissa Kay (Franks) Prosser; two sisters; a brother; a grand daughter and two great-grand daughters.

Survivors include two daughters, Paula Day and Rhonda Lewis, two sisters, Juanita Brown and Sue Thomas; four grand children and five great-grand children.

Graveside services will be held March 16, 2019 at Hillcrest Garden of Memory near Hillsboro.
