Raymond Shipp, 70, of Quinlan passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2013, in a Greenville hospital. He was born July 14, 1942 in Houston to Richard Pete and Marion Margaret (Brown) Shipp.

After graduating from high school in Lubbock, he lived in Plano for a few years before settling in San Angelo for 30 years. While there, he worked as an inspector for Ethicon, Inc. for 25 years before retiring in 2004.

On May 31, 1993, he married Helen Oleta Dobbs in Las Vegas, Nevada. In December 2012, the couple moved to Quinlan. Raymond enjoyed traveling, fishing, and camping. He was of the Baptist faith.

Preceding him in death were his parents; infant twins; step-daughter, Melissa Prosser; step-son-in-law, Larry Prosser; and two brothers.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Shipp of Quinlan; daughter, Rhonda Shipp of Mesquite; step-daughters, Paula Day and husband, James, of Hillsboro and Rhonda Lewis and husband, Lanny, of Aquilla; brother, Glynn Shipp of Dallas; sisters, Pat Simpson and husband, Craig, of Lubbock and four other sisters, Linda, Brenda, Judy, and Cathy; seven grandchildren; and six great-greatgrandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at Noon on Wednesday, February 6, at Hillcrest Garden of Memory near Hillsboro.

Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 a.m. Wednesday prior to service time at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.
