Valparaiso - Raymond O. Paxton, 91, of Valparaiso, passed away Saturday, September 9, 2000. Mr. Paxton was born October 8, 1908 in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, to Martin and Edith (Heberlig) Paxton.

He was married October 5, 1935 in Chicago, to Bernice G. (Lehman) Paxton who survives him. Also surviving are two sons, Verne R. (Becky) Paxton of Michigan and Richard M. (Alice) Paxton of Connecticut; nine grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren. Mr. Paxton was preceded in death by five brothers, two sisters, and his parents. Mr. Paxton owned and operated the Paxton and Warren Paint Store in Valparaiso. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Valparaiso, and the V. F. W. of Valparaiso; and a WWII Navy veteran.

Visitation will be held Monday, 6:30 P. M. to 8:30 P. M. at the Bartholomew Funeral Home, Valparaiso, IN. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a. m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Valparaiso. Burial will be private at Mt. Emblem Cemetery, Elmhurst, Illinois. Memorial donations may be made to the donor's choice. Bartholomew Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
