Joseph Lee Paxton, 95, of 216 N. Third died Thursday, June 6, 1996, at Graham Hospital Extended Care Unit in Canton.

Born April 8, 1901, in Chambersburg, Pa., to Martin Hoover and Edith Erilla Heberlig Paxton, he married Beatrice Woolsteen on Sept. 12, 1975, in Harrisburg, Pa. She survives at Clayberg Nursing Home in Cuba.

Also surviving are one daughter, Sandra Lane of Cuba; and one brother, Raymond of Valparaiso, Ind. Four brothers, one sister and one great-grandson preceded him in death.

He was a foreman at Caterpillar Inc. for 35 years, retiring in 1963. He last worked at Building X in East Peoria. He was a former member of Peoria Moose Lodge.

Cremation will be accorded. Private family graveside services will be Monday at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
