Bernice G. Paxton, age 90, of Valparaiso, passed away Friday, October 26, 2001 at the Mary E. Bartz Hospice Center. She was born January 13, 1911 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of William and Katherine G. (Kleefisch) Lehmann. She was a clerk at Salberg's Men's CLothing Store in Valparaiso. Bernice was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the Ladies Circle at Trinity Lutheran Church and an active volunteer until February 2000.

On October 5, 1935 she married Raymond Paxton who preceded her in death September 9, 2000. Surviving are two sons, Verne (Becky) Paxton of Michigan and Richard (Alice) Paxton of Connecticut, nine grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Her parents, two sisters and three brothers preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held Monday, October 29, 2001 at 11:00 A. M. at Trinity Lutheran Church, The Rev. Dr. John J. Santoro officiating. Burial in Mount Emblem Cemetery, Elmhurst, Illinois.
