He was born July 30, 1946 in Idaho Falls, Idaho the son of Cecil John Drollinger and Norma Delone Harris Drollinger.
He graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1964 and attended LDS Business College.
On April 16, 1971, he married Julie Gardner in Idaho Falls.
Richard had lived in Pocatello, Cheyenne, WY, Omaha, NE and Firth.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served a mission in Germany and a mission at the Family History Center in Idaho Falls.
Richard worked as a steno clerk for the Union Pacific Railroad.
He enjoyed piano, computers, card games, photography, movies and family history.
He is survived by his wife, Julie of Firth; children, Richard Joseph (Tracy) Drollinger of Bellevue, NE, Julie Christine Campfield of Blackfoot, Shauna Leanne (Grant) Fastabend of Idaho Falls, Heidi LeNae Stricklien of Idaho Falls; brother, Larry Dean (Nelda) Drollinger of Lewisville, ID; thirteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Burl, Genevieve, Keith, Max, Colleen, Betty Jean, DeAnn, Dale, Jackie, and Blaine.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 5, 2019 at the Firth LDS Chapel.
The family will meet with friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, January 4, 2019 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave., Blackfoot, Idaho and for one hour prior to the service at the church.
Interment will be in the Firth Cemetery.
