Alice P. Dobson, “Mimi”, 88, of Rensselaer, formerly of Wheatfield, passed away Sunday evening, December 23, 2018 at Franciscan Health Lafayette East. She was born on July 8, 1930 to John Louis DeMoss and Jessie (Daniels) DeMoss. Her marriage was to John C. Dobson, Sr. He preceded her in death in 2008.

Mimi was a homemaker and beautician. She operated a beauty shop in her home for about 40 years. She enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking and baking. She also loved to shop. She most enjoyed time spent with her family and especially her precious grandchildren. She will be fondly remembered for making people look beautiful and always helping others.

Mimi is survived by four children: Sandra Mounts, Michael (Marilyn) Dobson, Ronald Dobson, and Carla (Michael) Wheeldon; one brother, Cecil “Buck” DeMoss; one sister, Janice Sell; nine grandchildren: Carrie Abbring, Shawn (Sherri) Schultz, Cody Mounts, Travis (Angie) Dobson, Jocelyn (Ben) Conner, Shellie Dobson, Brandi (Matt) Brewer, Jeri (Clint) Wuethrich, and Kalyn Ballard; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Jessie DeMoss; son John Dobson, Jr.; grandson Uriah Dobson; granddaughter Nicole Dobson; two brothers, Jack DeMoss and Larry DeMoss; and three sisters: Mildred Cleamons, Peggy Cleamons, and Christine Gilbert.
