The funeral for Joseph Pegram Calvin, Sr., 72, of Ardmore, TN, will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church with Dr. Juaken Dumas officiating. A private grave service will be Tuesday at Roselawn Cemetery.
Mr. Calvin, formerly of Athens, died May 26, 2007, at Sunbridge Nursing Home. He was born Oct 2, 1934 in Athens, to Theo Wesley Calvin, Sr. and Clara Pearl (Adkins) Calvin.
He served in the Army and was retired from Redstone Arsenal (Huntsville, AL) in 1987. He was a member of the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Dorothy (Calvin) Fusch and Frances (Calvin) White.
He is survived by one son, Joseph P. Calvin, Jr.; one daughter, Wendy Calvin, three brothers, Theo Calvin Jr., Tom Calvin and Ed Calvin; and two grandchildren.
