Peter Rothrock Jr. is said to be the youngest of eleven known children of Peter Rothrock Sr. (1746-1829) and Catharina Mueller (became Miller) Rothrock (1749-1803) on 09 Oct 1770 at York, York County, Pennsylvania. Peter Jr. was born at the Moravian community of Friedberg, then on the border of Stokes and Rowan Counties, North Carolina; now (present-day) on the border of Forsyth and Davidson Counties, North Carolina. Were these really Peter Jr's parents? His mother would have been 49 years old at the time of his birth, quite a feat for that time period. Or is Peter Jr's birth year of 1798 incorrect?

Peter Rothrock Jr. married 1st to Jacobina Reich (1798-1855) on 10 Apr 1823 at Stokes (present day Forsyth) County, North Carolina. Peter and Jacobina were the parents of five known children, namely:

1. Mary Ellen Rothrock Rominger (1824 - 1894)*
2. Antoinette Rebecca Rothrock (1825 - 1863)*
3. Lauretta Louisa Rothrock Eberman (1829 - 1892)*
4. Francis Augustus Rothrock (1832 - 1891)*
5. Henry Alexander Rothrock (1835 - 1918)*

The family left North Carolina for Indiana on 03 Oct 1830.

After Jacobina died, Peter Jr. married secondly to Elizabeth Davis (1817-1893) on 07 Sep 1862 at Bartholomew County, Indiana. Peter and Elizabeth had no known children.
