John Lester Mason, 80, Stearns, died Thursday, oct. 10, 1996.
Funeral services were 11 a.m. Saturday at the chapel of Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Bro. Donald Maxwell officiating. Burial was in Angel Cemetery, Stearns.
Born Dec. 5, 1915, in Ritner, Ky., he was the son of the late Harrison and Ada Jones Mason. He was a retired 35-year employee of the U.S. Forest Service and was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents and a sister, Linda Wright.
Survivors include his wife, Vergie Slaven Mason, Stearns; a son, Kenneth John Mason, Stearns; a daughter, Karen Creekmore, Revelo; two brothers, Everett Mason, Stearns, and Oran Mason, Muncie, Ind.; and four sisters, Dorothy Peet, Washougal, Wash., Veda Young, Leatha Yates and Ruby Anthony, all of Muncie.
Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
