Lynn D Woodward, 73 years old of Orem, Utah passed away peacefully on June 28, 2018 at Utah Valley Hospital, surrounded by his children and loving family. He joins his parents, twin brother and family on the other side to be with his Savior.
Lynn was born on 9/30/1944 in Franklin, Idaho to Ivan Woodward Sr. and Ordell Mecham (Doney) Woodward. He graduated from Preston High School and LDS Seminary and attended Trade Tech College in Pocatello, Idaho where he received a degree in Auto Body.
Lynn's passion for cars started as a child. He worked at Handy Service Station, pumping gas and fixing cars until his mission call for the LDS Church in the East Central States. After his mission Lynn spent time on the East Coast building churches with his brother.
Lynn served in the National Guard out of Preston, Idaho, both active duty and reserve service. He married Marilyn Beattie on 02/14/1973 in the Logan Utah Temple. They were blessed with three children, Robert, Carl (Jessica), and Elena (Cory Clark).
Lynn was a jack of all trades and a master of all. He could fix anything with a motor and enjoyed his work at PepBoys in Orem. Lynn was also very proud to work for BYU as a maintenance engineer. He had a carpet cleaning business and worked as a mechanic. His expertise and passion for fixing things and willingness to serve others defined his life.
Lynn is survived by 2 siblings and 6 grandchildren, brother Clair D Woodward of Terre Haute, Indiana, sister LuDean (Frank) Atwood of Nephi, Utah.
He is preceded in death by his parents, twin brother, brothers Doney Leon, Melvin Jay, Darrell D Woodward, half-brothers Rollo William Woodward, James Eugene Woodward, Ivan Hart Woodward, Guy Owen Woodward and half-sisters Virginia Woodward, Sabina Jorgenson and Edith Abersold.
Lynn was one of the last 3 surviving grandchildren of William Woodward who crossed the plains with the Willie Martin Handcart Co.
Lynn loved to read and found the most interest in history. He could fix anything to perfection and was eager to share his knowledge. Lynn loved his family and always tried to do his best. He especially loved his grandchildren and found joy in being part of their daily lives.
He had a beautiful voice and would often break into song or dance - lighting up the room and people in it with his joy and energy.
Lynn loved the outdoors. He loved animals and spoiled them with treats, teaching them lots of interesting tricks.
Lynn had a heart of gold and never took offense. He was unconventional and quirky. He was genuine. Lynn was patient and kind to everyone he met and was always thinking of ways to help improve the lives of those around him.

A viewing will be held on Monday, July 2, 2018 from 6-8pm at the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home at 646 E 800 N, Orem, Utah 84097. On Tuesday, July 3, 2018 a viewing will be held from 9-9:45am followed by a service at 10am at the Orem Park Stake Center located at 195 W 300 S, Orem Utah 84058.
