He was born at Cumberland, Md, Feb. 14, 1883, a son of Robert and Mamie Gibbs Davis, and was the last of his family. He was employed as a welder for the Frick Coal Co. 40 years, retiring Jan. 15, 1954. He had lived in Canonsburg 50 years.
In recent years, Mr. Davis worked at the Town Park in Canonsburg. He was a Methodist.
His wife, Carrie May Wilson Davis, died April 1, 1955.
Surviving are three sons, Harold P., of Canonsburg; Ernest W., at home, and Robert E., of Canonsburg; one daughter, Mrs. Helen Landock, of Meadow Lands, and eight grandchildren.
