Mr. Haines died unexpectedly at 4:13 p.m. Monday at South Bend Memorial Hospital.
He was born April 8, 1919, in Peru, the son of Perry and Gladys Hoagland Haines. He had lived in South Bend for the past 33 years and was employed by the White Farm Equipment Company.
He was a member of the Peru Church of the Brethren.
Surviving are his widow, the former Betty Shafer, whom he married in 1934; his mother who resides in Peru; two daughters, Janice Sebasty of New Carlisle and Pamela at home; a son, Clifford Haines Jr. of Granger; two brothers, Paul Haines of Wabash and Perry Haines of St. Petersburg, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. John Dolan of Koontz Lake and Mrs. Wayne Cattin of Peru; and seven grandchildren.
