Services for Lloyd Robert Billingsley, 65 and Ruby Maxine Billingsley, 67 of Butler, who died June 1, 1986 as the result of a car train accident in Butler, were held Wednesday, June 4 at 2 p.m. at the First Christian Church in Rich Hill. The Rev. Charles Rhodes officiated assisted by Rev. David Bock. Interment was in Oak Hill Cemetery, Butler, under the direction of Underwood-Steinbeck-Schowengerdt of Butler. Lloyd was born Jan. 3, 1921 in Rich Hill to Jesse Robert and Lela May Stuart Billingsley. Ruby was born Dec. 11, 1919 in Prescott, Kan., to Ira O. and Annie Raney Anderson. Lloyd and Ruby were married Aug. 22, 1938 and to this union five children were born, Claude Robert Billingsley of Butler, Anna Mae Vest and Verna Joyce Sliver, both of Drexel, Lela June Helton of Pittsburg, Kan., and Lillian Roberta Sage of Butler, all of whom survive. Mr. and Mrs. Billingsley resided in Rich Hill area and were engaged in farming until 1972 when they moved to Butler and operated the Billingsley Service Station and garage. They were members of the First Christian Church in Rich Hill. Lloyd is further survived by one sister, Gladys Cochran of Yakima, Wash. Ruby is survived by two brothers, Charles Anderson of Columbia and Kenneth Anderson of Drexel; and three sisters, Irene Caskey of Butler, Virginia Finley of Hume and Betty Barker of Ft. Scott, Kan. Lloyd and Ruby are survived by 14 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
