Wilber A. Coy Dies Wednesday

WHITELAND, Oct. 7. – Death came to Wilber A. Coy, a farmer in this community, Wednesday afternoon at 4:45 o'clock, in his home west of here.

He had been ill for the past six weeks.

Funeral services are to be conducted at 1:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon in the Flinn & Maguire funeral home at Franklin. The Rev. Ray Bozell, pastor of the Old Union Christian Church, will be in charge of the services and burial will take place in Greenlawn Cemetery.

The body will be returned to the late residence where friends may call any time Friday and until noon Saturday. They are invited to attend the rites.

Lived in Atterbury Area

Mr. Coy was the son of Jesse T. and Margaret E. Neville Coy, and was born Jan 21, 1895, in Bartholomew County. He lived the greater part of his life in the area where Camp Atterbury is now situated and had been a life-long farmer.

The remainder of his life was spent on the farm where he was residing at the time of his death.

Mr. Coy was a member of the New Bethel Christian Church which is in the camp area.

In 1914 he was married to Jettie Stout and they were the parents of two children. Mrs. Coy's death occurred on June 4, 1938. He then married Lora Smith on May 14, 1949.

She survives with a son, Virgil Coy, of Whiteland; a daughter, Mrs. Marjorie E. Ward, of Franklin; three grandchildren, Kenneth Coy, of Whiteland and Marilyn Ward and Merrill Ward, of Franklin.

Others remaining are three sisters, Mrs. Iva Wray, Mrs. Pearl Royse, of Franklin, and Mrs. Effie Yoder, of Shelbyville.
