Betty Jean Moore, 69, of Irwinville, Georgia, died Sunday, August 26, 2018, at Pruitt Health in Ocilla.

Funeral services were held 2 PM, Thursday, August 30, 2018, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Ocilla, with the Rev. Rex Johnson officiating. Interment was in Irwinville Cemetery.

Mrs. Moore was born November 13, 1948, in Irwin County, Georgia, to the late Eugene Brantley “Frog” & Lillie Barfield Bess. She was a graduate of Irwin County High School and was a homemaker. She formerly owned and operated Guy Pecan in Irwinville. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her grandchildren. Mrs. Moore was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by her grandchildren: Chanler Moore of Irwinville and Taylor Carelock of Fitzgerald; great-grandchildren: Aubree Lynn Carelock, Aidan Darrell Hobbs, and Braxton Thomas Hobbs; siblings and their spouses: Raymond Bess of Houston, Texas, Larry & Peggy Bess of Ocilla, Melvin & Nora Bess of Hilton Head, South Carolina, and Mary Jane & Charlie Harper of Cartersville, Georgia; along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Darrell “Drib” Moore; two children: Jennifer Ann “Jenny” Moore and Darrell Eugene Moore; and a brother, Kenneth Bess.
