Hermie V. Ashcraft
Hermie V. Ashcraft, 76, of Sheridan, died Wednesday at Jefferson Hospital. He was a retired farmer and carpenter.
He was a native of Grant County and a son of the late Thomas J. and Margaret Johnson Ashcraft.
He was a World War I veteran and a member of Hedden's Chapel Assembly of God Church where he was a deacon and Sunday School teacher.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Jamie Ross Ashcraft; two sons, Athel Ashcraft of Sheridan and Othel Ashcraft of Pine Bluff; three daughters, Mrs. Ted Hedden and Mrs. James Bradshaw, both of Sheridan, and Mrs. Esther Thompson of Pine Bluff; a brother, J. O. Ashcraft of Grady; three sisters, Mrs. Robert Ross and Mrs. Roy Fikes, both of Pine Bluff, and Mrs. Owen Knight of Gould; 15 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 3 PM Friday at Heddens Chapel Assembly of God Church by Reverend O. W. Clowers, Reverend Earl Teeter and Reverend Harold Thompson. Burial will be in Heddens Chapel Cemetery by South Funeral Home of Pine Bluff.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
