Margaret Helen (Griffith) Alexander was born on May 27, 1923 in Fireco, Raleigh County, West Virginia, and she was the daughter of Mannie Griffith (1898–1983) and Viola "Blanche" (Meador) Griffith (1901–1998).

She was married to Arthur Alexander Sr.

Margaret was a long time member of Neely's Bend United Methodist Church and Hendersonville First United Methodist Church, and she also belonged to the Newcomers Club of Hendersonville and the Young at Heart Club.

Living in Hendersonville, Sumner County, Tennessee, she died June 27, 2018 at the age of 95.

She was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband, while survivors included two married sons, five grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

Celebration of Life Services were held at Hendersonville First United Methodist Church, and burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery in Nashville.
