Leonard Allman was born the son of Phillip and Ruth Hendershot Allman in Surprise, Hamilton Township, Indiana. His birth certificate said that he was the twelfth child born to his parents and the eighth living.

The Seymour, Indiana, Tribune for October 2, 1925, page 3 said in the Acme column: Born to Mr. and Mrs. Philip Allman, September 23, a ten pound son.

Sadly, Leonard Allman died at the age of 17 days. The Brownstown, Indiana, Banner, had a small mention of his death in the October 14, 1925, edition, page 2 in the Surprise, Hamilton Township column: A small baby of Mr. and Mrs. Philip Allman died Saturday and was buried in the Acme cemetery Sunday morning at ten o'clock.
